Summer hide and seek “It is never too late to have a happy childhood”
Hiding behind a rock at the edge of the sea I hear a roar that is not the sound of waves hitting the shore, but the sound of blood rushing through my veins, quickening my heartbeat and making my skin flush and prickle. The sound echoes, intensifying my body’s reactions to the possibility of being found. Can I be found? Will I be found? Should I be found? Please find me. We are playing a game of Hide and Seek and I am the prey, a small child believing she is invisible to her hunter. These are the feelings of my childhood - excitement, expectation, apprehension, fear, longing, and joy that co-exist in the beginning of the human life cycle. In the backyard of kings evokes those days when dreams and life were one and the same. It is a show celebrating the myth of growing up, the sensation of time and its loss, the surprise before the marvelous.
